Loving it to death conference

Port Arthur Historic Site 25-27 November 2005
Planning for the Loving it to Death: Sustainable Tourism at Historic Places conference is continuing, with on-line registration at www.lovingittodeath.com.With just under 6 weeks to go until the conference we have 135 registrations, which means that for those of you that haven’t registered yet there are only 35 spaces left, as the capacity for the conference is 170.

Accommodation is filling fast, so the longer you leave your registration, the less choice available for accommodation.

A reminder that we’ve got FREE CONFERENCE COACHES departing Hobart Airport at 9.45am and 2.45pm. Or if you are located in the city, the coach will collect you at 10.45am from the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Davey Street. For $60 you can cruise down to Port Arthur on the 25 metre seagoing catamaran Marana, leaving from the Elizabeth Street Pier in Hobart at 10.30 (the 9.45am airport coach will deliver you to the pier). Intrepid voyagers will arrive at Port Arthur in plenty of time for the Thursday afternoon tours of the historic site and the evening Welcome Reception.

Visit the website at www.lovingittodeath.com for the latest details.
We are inviting published authors, or delegates to nominate relevant “newly published” works to have on sale/ distribution in the Conference Bookshop. If you’ve got a suggestion, we require the name of the publication and the name of the publisher. We will then place orders etc, with the appropriate publishers. Representative of organizations that publish material relevant to the topic of cultural heritage tourism are welcome to bring copies of these publications. In all cases please notify the bookshop coordinator Sue Hood on susan.hood@portarthur.org.au.
