The 14th Symposium of the ICOMOS International Wood Committee will take place in Patzcuaro, Michoacan, Mexico November 10 to 15th. As you may know, David Michelmore and I have been interested in increasing Wood Committee activities in Latin America during our term so we were particularly pleased when long time committee member Guadaloupe Zepeda Martinez agreed to undertake organizing this symposium.
We hope our members will respond by actively participating in this rare opportunity to learn and contribute to wood conservation activities in Mexico.

I am sending you recently finalized information about the symposium

Traditional and current techniques in manufacture of wood related to its durability.
